I am also looking for the JAKEMAN family in Camberwell. I have an Allan James English Jakeman from the 1881 census living at 34 Castlemaine Road, Camberwell and he was in that area until at least 1894. I don't yet have a son Ernest but it is a possibility. Allan JEJ also had a brother George English Jakeman who lived in the Camberwell area and a younger brother Harry who was living next door to Allan in the census but went under the surname English, as did their mother Marrion. I know that there were more than one family of Jakemans in Camberwell who were having children in the 1870s/80s but it is possible that they were related as it is not that common a surname. Any thoughts?
