I would need to investigate further to see if their is a family connection but my great great great grandfather John Jakeman moved to Norton Lindsey, with his wife Sarah, in the early 1800's from Alderminster (apparently following his brother Thomas and his wife Elizabeth).
Their daughter Elizabeth was born in NL in c1826 and married Charles Powers in 1845. From here I have followed my own line not the Jakeman family. Let me know if their is any particular information that may be helpful.
