Bonjour! My great grandparents were Delima Jalbert and Stanislas Duff from Lowell, MA. As far as I know there were five children although I am not sure who was oldest/youngest. Of the boys there was Archibald, Arthur and I believe Joseph. The two girls were Adeline and my grandmother, Albina. I believe Stansilas Duff was an accomplished musician and played at the Lowell Opera House. A violinist, but could play other instruments. He was a taskmaster and make his childern study instruments. My grandmother's was piano. Of the stories I had heard, he would strike her hand or arm if she made an unacceptible mistake!!When I was young, I remember my grandmother playing the piano at her farm in NH(in Contucket). I remember her as being she was a very soft-spoken, very sweet lady. She spoke fluent French. My grandmother Albina married Bertram Morgan, and they produced seven children, my mother Isabelle Natalie being one. I have heard that my great-grandfather and his brother went to South Carolina to start a thread-mill. My great-grandfather did not stay, returning to Massachusetts or New Hampshire. My sister, Jean has been in touch with one of the descendants who stayed in South Carolina named Charles Duff- in his seventies now. We (my daughter and I) have moved from MA to NC and are presently living in the central coast of California. I was quite pleased and surprised when my daughter told me of the message you left on the Jalbert Geneology Forum!!I would be very happy to hear of your relationship to us!!!!!Merci!!Mary Louise Martikke.
