I was able to find the census record which gave me the info you referred to. I hadn't found the marriage record of William Simon. I searched the vital records in Middlesex a few years ago and tried every possible name and found no birth records for any of them. I did find other vitals for all but Charles and Albert but I think at least Albert went back to Canada as I found that he was living in Mansonville when he tried to apply for a pension as a Civil War vet. The Civil War record of William indicated that they moved from Quebec to Vermont around 1850 so if that is correct it's unlikely any of them were actually born in Vermont. But I've been unable to find any records in my search that will give me any more info. I was living in Vermont until a couple years ago and now live in Nashua, New Hampshire so it's more difficult to do the field research, though I think I retty well found all the Vermont records that were available. I'll keep up the search on-line. Thanks for your help.
