Hello Herve!
I am Eric Volante from Locust Grove, Virginia, USA. My grandmother was a Jalbert. Her oldest ancestors were Jean Jalbert and his wife Perrine Pellet Jalbert. The name was once spelled Gerbert, Gerbet, etc., then changed to Jalbert. Jean was born about 1597 and died before 1697. He married his wife about 1622 in Saint Pierre, Bretagne, France. His wife was born about 1600, and died before 1702. They had a son-Mathurin Gerbert-(Jalbert), who was born in 1631 in Haute Bretagne, France, and died December 19, 1687 in Sainte-Famille Ile d'Orleans, Quebec, Canada. He married Isabelle (Elisabeth) Targer-daughter of Daniel, a bargeman, and Louise Martin, widow of Simon Piat of La Rochelle, Quebec, Canada on August 4, 1659-(license dated July 13 1659 in Audouant.) In a second marriage, he wedded Jeanne Letellier in 1671-(license dated October 11 1671.)
Anyway, I have all of this information plus a huge quantity more on the Jalbert genealogy/family history that starts in France, and goes on to Canada, and then to the USA that I can mail to you if you can E-mail me your regular postal mailing address, as it is too much information for me to type up and E-mail to you, so can you E-mail me your home address? Thanks so much, and I hope that I can help you. You never know, we may be distant cousins! My E-mail address is: -so use that address to send me your home address. I look forward to hearing from you! By the way, I am Eric-age 36, my wife is Anita-age 33, and we have 2 daughters-Ashley-age 9 and Allison-age 6. I work for the US government at a military base as a water treatment plant operator, and my wife is a Nurse's Aid at a nursing home. I can't wait to hear from you!

Very Sincerely,
Eric J. Volante
