Thanks for the suggestion, Cheryl. I will take a look at those biographies. I do have information on all the Jameson children, including their marriages, but these will add details to their lives, I'm sure.
What I was really looking for was John Jameson's family, but now I'll completely confuse the issue with some new information my cousin found.It turns out that John and Clarissa were not actually the parents of Almira, our direct ancestor.Instead she was born to Clarissa's older sister Mary and her husband Arthur Eyke, and is mentioned in the will of Clarissa and Mary's father Stephen+. Arthur died soon after Almira was born, and Mary died in 1814.John and Clarissa took Almira into their home, and she ended up being known as Almira Jameson rather than Almira Eyke.
Now we have the difficult problem of finding a family for Arthur Eyke.....so far we've got a brother, but no parents, but we hope eventually to learn who they were.It's never easy, is it?
