Janneys of Illinois and Nebraska - Family Bible and Photo Album FOUND!!
My grandpa is descended from the Cain and Vermillion families of Phelps County, Nebraska.Somehow he inherited the family Bible of Almira C. Janney (who married John F Johnson) and the family photo album.I have scanned all the photos and pages of the Bible that included family information, and also some family group sheets I compiled, and posted them in a book at archive.org. The web address is http://www.archive.org/details/PhotoAlbumAndFamilyBibleOfTheWilliamJanneyFamilyhttp://www.archive.org/details/PhotoAlbumAndFamilyBibleOfTheWilliamJanneyFamily
This family was a branch from William Janney, who married Sarah B. Wilson.William was a son of Aquilla Janney of Virginia. They had the following children, as far as I can tell:
-Aquilla Janney, b abt 1841 Vermont, Fulton, IL
-Mary Ann Janney, b abt 1842 Vermont, Fulton, IL
-Susanna/Susan W Janney, b abt 1845 Vermont, Fulton, IL
Married Peter Brown of Germany, and had Laura, Frank, John, and Orlo.
-Hannah A V /Regina/Virginia Janney, b abt 30 Jul 1847 Vermont, Fulton, IL
Married James B. Pickering and had Laura V, Ray, Clara Olive, and Frank August.
-Almira C Janney, b abt 1852 Vermont, Fulton, IL
Almira married John F Johnson and had Laura Virginia Johnson, infant son Johnson, William Henry Johnson, infant daughter Jonhson, and May Johnson.
I think the family lived in Fulton County, Illinois, and Phelps County, Nebraska.I have updated as much information as I have on New.FamilySearch.org.Additional data is available through the censuses and other documents.
As the family bible and photo album have no direct meaning to me, as I am not a relative of these people, I would be willing to send these to an interested descendant of William Janney and Sarah B Wilson, if one were to ask, and if I haven't already send them to someone else. You can email me at the address in my profile, it should be listed above.
Hopefully this helps someone. This Bible is almost 150 years old now, so people have held on to it this long, I'd really like to see it get back into the hands of a descendant who will care for it!
