If Margaret is born in 1800 and her maiden name is Jaques/Jacques and since the letter links Margaret to an Uncle Hiram - she is more than likely a sister to the Hiram Jaques b. Aug 4, 1814 Scholarie/Delaware County, New York as Hiram, Samuel, and William Hudson Jaques came West to Illinois with Adam Smith and the Mormons from New York about 1837 supposedly.
I do not have Margaret listed as a child for Jesse and Maria Boice/Boyce but it is likely, as girls were often left off. There is little paper trail on this family I have found - as Hiram's brother's Samuel's wife Effie Vogel/Faggort is an utter mystery. There is no record of her birth or where she is from. Based on family conjecture, she is probably German.
I, too, am interested in your find. I am a direct descendant of Hiram's nephew George Washington Jaques.
