Interesting to see how our paths have crossed for Browns and Jarrell. I recorded the folowing:
Descendants of Joshua Jarell
Generation No. 1
1. JOSHUA1 JARELL. He married MARTHA F(J) BROWN September 10, 1856 in Russell County, Al (Source: Russell county Al. Marriages, marrried by Henry Bouton. Either I made a mistake in recording the year or I have the wrong Martha. Her father was in this county in 1856.), daughter of LEWIS BROWN and ELIZABETH MCCURLEY.
Notes for JOSHUA JARELL:
Perhaps, this is the clue you seek. Hope it becomes a valuable one. Original Landowners of Present Lee County,Al: Joshua Jarrell 29 Feb 1836 T18 R29 S5 41-4115 (Indian Allotment-miscellaneous)
I believe this Joshua is related to ours but can not find proof. Smith Callaway Jarrell was b. 1825 in Stewart county, Georgia and this may be a place for you to look. I've found the name as Jarrell, Gerrell,Gerald and consider that it may be Fitzgerald as well. Hope this helps you. please inform me if you find anything useful which may be useful in my own search. Notes for MARTHA F(J) BROWN:
By census records it appears that Martha and Mary A. died in Alabama
Martha's grandfather was Alexander from Pendleton district.
