In your summary, #13 was listed as Wyntje Jacocks, and I believe she could be my 5th Great-grandmother, who was married to Simeon Leroy in 1769. My records show her as the daughter of William, and born December 27, 1753. She died in St. Andrews, Argenteuil, Quebec, Canada, July 10, 1825. I got my information from "The Leroy Family Lines" on, but they listed her as Wyntje Jacooks, and I was not surprised by that since there were so many Dutch names in the family. I have been frustrated that I could not find any other Jacook family members anywhere, and I now suspect that I was searching a name that was misspelled or changed at some point - I guess Jacooks could pretty easily become Jacocks, or vice versa. In any event, could you direct me to any sources that could help me confirm if your Wyntje Jacocks is the same person? I'm not sure I understand your numbering system, but some of my family members were Quakers and some were United Empire Loyalists that left the U.S. and came to Canada around the time of the Revolution. Seeing a William was hung for treason is nonetheless disconcerting, especially if it were to emerge that he was my 6th grandfather, rather than a great uncle! I have found quite a number of "black sheep uncles" and one scandalous aunt among my ancestors, but so far I have no "bad apples" in the direct lines - although one of my daughters occasionally suggests she does. ...Pete
