I recently began tracing my ancestry and have found a migration in reverse order from St. Louis, MO - Reynolds Co., MO - Jackson Co., OH - Pocahontas Co., WVa. I am a descendant of Isaiah Jaycox which is a brother of Susannah Jaycox (Jaycock). I found a map that had the town of Jacox, WV on it and thought it would be easy to find. While visiting my brother, who lives in Virginia now, I thought I would drive by on my way home. The town of Jacox looked like it was just off of I-64 and just south of the Droop Mtn. Battlefield. My family actually had a picnic at the Droop Mtn. Battlefield playground and I talked to some locals who said they had never heard of Jacox, WV. Could you help me out? I showed my map to one of the locals and he had an idea of where the location was but did not know it was called Jacox. We drove by but really don't know if we were in the right place because there were no signs. My wife and I plan to visit Snowshoe Mtn. sometime in the future and again I would like to find the village you are talking about. Any info you can provide would be appreciated. If there is any info that you would like on Jaycox's living in MO, just let me know.
