Dear Thomas,
Thank you so much for the data from the 1698 census of Hempstead which I'd not seen. I too surmise that our early Benjamin, b c1740/1742 does come from the LI branch. I have William, s/o Francis & Grace b c1627, staying in Hempstead w/ children: David c 1650; Jonathan,c 1652; Benjamin, c 1654; Grace, c1656; Sarah, c1658; and Joseph, c 1660. Your 1698 census could be the son, David's children. Somewhere there must be more Friends' records of the LI family before they went to Dutchess Co amd a Benjamin m in 1741 in Fishkill to Jannetje Jones? Land records? Carolyn Blount
