Hi everyone, I was doing some research on my ancestor Elizabeth Jacox and French Carter and was studying the 1850 Ohio census. I found Isaiah Jaycox and Maria listed on page 338 with children Margeret born in 1830, John born in 1839 and Evaline born in 1844. Further down the same page is David Neff born in 1832 and his wife Nancy born in 1827 with a son Isaac born in 1849. Nancy's maiden name is Jaycox. Further down is Simion and Sarah Carter, French's brother and next is William and Anna Carter their parents and then French and Elizabeth whose maiden name was Jacox. On page 339 it lists a William Jacox born in 1828 with his wife Mary born in 1832 and their son David born in 1849. I think all these Jaycox children belong to Isaiah and Maria. By 1870 French is in Kansas, Elizabeth has passed away, but still listed on the same page of the census record is Mary Jaycox(spelled Jayuash) born in 1832 with a son David 20 years, Jane 13, Anna 9, Alma 4 and Minnie 2. William is not listed as he must have passed away. I also found the 1830 Pendleton Co, Virginia census with Isaiah with 1 son under 5(William) 1 son under 10(David) and himself(30-40) 2 daughters under 5(Elizabeth and Nancy) and one female 20-30(Maria).I have found no evidence of Manerva who I have seen in LDS family search as being the oldest daughter. So I think Isaiah and Maria had David(1821) Elizabeth(1826) Nancy(1827) William(1828) Margeret(1830) John(1839) and Evaline(1844).
