Tom, also in 1850 Jennings Co., IN we find the family of Timothy Jayne. One of his apparent sons is 3-yr-old Selah, another possible match for the Seely you are seeking. This Selah would have been about 24 at the start of the Civil War. Also living in the household of Timothy Jayne was 23-yr-old Benjamin F. Jayne, who seems too old to be a son and may be a brother. The elder Selah (mentioned in my previous posting), Timothy, and Benjamin were all born in NY, and all three were shoemakers.

Darrell
