phil,
according to my records, Anselm b.1800 d.1835?, and brewster b.1792 d.? were brothers of samuel. I have copies of the original court documents from when mary (in May 1862)went to court to fight for the property taken after samuel's death. they are hard to make out though due to the fact that they are hand written and quite sloppy. still trying to decifer them. also my research says that after a few years of working for samuel and brewster in their stores at brookhaven and monticello, anselm opened his own store in what later became known as Jaynesville(Covington County). don't know if he had a part in the naming or not. if i find any other info. you can use i'll post it here. Katherine Jayne
