Hi Katherine,

I have 3 John's in my tree, 1) my great grandfather was born in 1825 and died in 1908, and married Mary hopkins in 1854. he had 5 children that I know of 2) John born in 1856, with Thomas, James William and Emma. the 3rd I am having difficulties with is John my Great Great grandfather.
There are however a profusion of jayne's in the 1881 census all living around the Pontypool area at that time

sorry i cannot be more helpful
Bernard
