Ancestors of Anselm Jayne
Posted by: Joe Jaynes (ID *****7534) Date: August 24, 2004 at 18:48:04

Anselm and his brothers, Samuel and Brewster, were early settlors in Mississippi---Brookhaven and Monticello areas. Brewster is my GGGF. (My GF added the "s" to our name.) Some of Anselm's ancestors may not be aware of the location of his gravesite and I wish to give you this brief report. His grave is in a now abandoned cemetery in the vicinity of Mt. Olive, MS. Anselm founded the long vanished town of Jaynesville but Jaynesville Road is still there. He died in 1835, as I recall, but the lettering on his gravestone is still ledgible. Should this note prompt any questions, please post a reply.
