You are correct when you say Beniah was the father of Henry D, It is just that the Beniah I was referencing, b 1831, was also a son of Henry's father, and thus Henry's sibling -- just to keep us on an even keel here :)

My only real interest in Beniah Gustin (b 1831) is in his role as a biographer of of the Jayne family and I wanted to get him connected into the rest of the family tree.

My Jayne ancestor is through the wife of Alfred L Strickland, Harriet S "Hattie" Jayne, b 1828, my gg grand mother, daughter of William S Jayne and Sarah McMillan.

As a historical curiosity, I have also compiled a bit of info on the family of Gershom Jayne and their connection to President Lincoln and the politics of the day, but sorry, I can't really offer you any information on your Jayne & Travis families other then I know that 'Decker' is the maiden name of Henry's paternal grandmother.

However, I want to thank you for passing on the info in your post about Henry.

Thank you,

Bill
