William (De Jeanne) Jayne is my 7th ggrandfather. I don't have any info on Eben Jayne's work, nor any lineage before Henry, but there is sone interesting biographical data on Wm at the Long Island Genaology site

Seems he was a secretary to Oliver Cromwell, changed his name & fled to America after the Restoration,and was a Puritan minister on Long Island.
