Hi Ester,
We just found a posting of yours on Geneology.com. We also believe that Wm. Jayroe is our GGranfather /GGGrandfather. Our Grandfather was George Wesley Jayroe of Alpine, TX, (he was the postmaster, among other things), and later moved to Santa Monica, CA.
Wm's middle name is likely Wesley also, as we were told it was a family name. Robert is also, Robert Wesley. George Wesley married Eva Kay and had 3 children. A child who died in infancy was followed by my Gmother, Louise (born 1909) and Elsie (born 1911). My mother's name is Marlene. We have a journal from George recording the death of his father (whom we believe is WW Jayroe) is the civil war, near Fort Smith, Arkansas, in 1965.
Perhaps you could verify our belief that W.W. Jayroe is the true father of George Wesley as we believe. Although we have the journal, GW does not mention his father's name when he records his death in 1965. As Robert died much later, we concluded that Robert could not be his father, but was likely his uncle. All the rest of the facts we have gathered support our belief.
I have attached some military records that may be interesting to you. I do hope that you receive this e-mail, as it has been some time since your posting. We would love to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Sheri
