Looking for Jenne's, pronounced Jen-Nae

Hi Aleece:
I'm researching Churchills who in the 1700's were very involved with the Jenne's or Jenney's.My research has found thou spelling different, your families have the same roots, tracing back in America to the year 1623, just 3 short years after the Mayflower.
Various phonetic interpretations created different spellings of most family names, as you might know, as the first four generations of Americans settled in."Churchill' for example was spelled as many as five ways. The difference with the Jenne's or Jenneys, however, is that they seemed to branch off into the specific two names and never did the 'twain meet. Usually, as with the name Churchill, the five spellings merged (mostly) into one, per spelling as shown (for all three branches which are not proven to be related).
This is not a researched conclusion but it appears your family name was the minority choice of the two spellings?
Have you or other descendants you know researched above and could you confirm if the observation is correct?
Further, I'm trying to help a Plymouth branch Churchill (there are three branches in the New England states), find a family link.We have his apx. 4th generation grandfather traced to Thomas Churchill, married to Eunice Jenne, aprox
1804.We know of one child only, Anson, born in New Bedford, Ma.,1805 (5th gen.).And, we know Anson had one son, Stephen, born abt. 1822, but, we don't know where?
Stephen is abt 6th Gen.
We did discover there were several intermarriages between the Jenne's, the Churchills and the Popes. Most of the marriages took place in Massachusetts - in fact most of these families originated around New Bedford (Dartmouth). The man I'm working with has been trying to establish this link for more than five years.
Appreciate any help.Thank you, dwc.
