Subject: [ENG-LANCS-YORKS] WW1 Pocket watch

Hello
I recently bought a gold hunter type pocket watch, inside the back is
inscribed the name R Jennison. Y&Lc. and a list of WW1 battles.1915 Ypres.
1916 Somme.
Thiepval. Hebuttere. Gommecourt. 1917 Neuve Chappelle. Nieuport.
Passchendale.
1918 Polderhock. Sternwerk. Also the initials and date, 15/9/31 EDR, 20/4/32
GRR OR GLR. Inside the front is inscribed Rd Jennison 22.9.14. The watch is
made by the Illinois , Watch and Case company, Elgin, USA.
I think the Y&Lc stands for the York and Lancaster Regiment, and if possible
I would like to find who R Jennison was.
I live in Blaenavon, Gwent, S Wales, I have checked the phone book and there
are no Jennisons living in this area, but I understand it is quite common in
your area.I would appreciate any help, perhaps someone knows the history of
this watch, I would love to hear from you.
Thanks
Jim
