Hi Howard
Just a little follow up to my first response. I am now beginning that the Jewer and Juer/Jure names are unrelated. It seems all the Juer family were in the Hr. Grace, Carbonear area and it this family which moved to the Notre Dame Bay area of the province, there becoming Jure and after 1900 becoming Jewer. It seems the Juers of Hr. Grace and the Jewers of Spaniards Bay lived close enough to each other to be aware if they were the same family, even to the point where a Henry Jewer of Hr. Grace married an Elizabeth Chapmen, Nov. 25, 1819. They then had several children in Harbour Grace and apparently moved to Spqaniards Bay where other children were born.
