There is alsa a Czech surname JIRU properly spelled with a diacritical mark "krouzek" that is a little circle, above the U. The name would be pronounced as YEEEH ROO. This name was found in Southern Bohemia in late 1600s in land records, ORLIK Manor, in the tiny village of JETETICE.
