I am building a family tree. The earliest name I can find is Ignitz Johannes.I am not sure when he arrived here but I do know he is burried in Honesdale, Pennsylvania at Saint Mary Magdolin cemetary. His wife was Frances Shields. They had a son Joseph Johannes he married Katherine/Catherine Kritter (SP?).Their son was Jerome Johannes b. 3/3/1897 d.2/11/1985.He married Ellen Margaret Miller from Kensington, PA. b.1/19/1900 d. 8/20/1970. Their son was James David Johannes b. 6/9/1944. He married Patricia Ann Fox. b. 7/8/1946.Their daughter is me, Jennifer.
I was told that it all started with 3 brothers.Otis, Blomadal, and Slush.I know the names are spelled wrong and I have no Idea what part of Germany they came from or even the date.I know one went west and worked in logging, one went into they shipyards in either Boston or Philly. And one went into farming in Honesdale, Pa.
Any other information you have would be appreciated.
