Well, I am not sure if our info will match or not, but I will tell you of my relative. I do not know where he was born except that it was in Sweden in about 1855. Some of the Michigan census state December. One is a marriage between Charles Carl Johnson which could have been spelled like your Johansson. I don't know much except they did have family reunions in Michigan, Wisconsin and Canada. And when he would travel it would be to those areas and include Minnesota, and Oregon. He would be my great great grandfather. My mother is still living her name is Harriet May and her father was Carl Earl Johnson b. 1907 although the records might have been burnt and that was a date given to him other than the original which might have been abt 1889 1899. He was born with many of his sibblings in Faithorn Michigan. He lived in Ludington to have a sister living there and a daughter born there. Ludington is only a little bit away from Muskegon. I used to live in Muskegon. He did have brothers and sisters, I think my mother mentioned. She was only abt 4-5 when her father Carl and mother divorced. And his father Charles, divorced in 1919 from his wife Carrie or Caroline Anderson b. Feb or Oct 1865 I have been told. How correct that is I do not know. I too have had problems looking them up. I did find that Carrie/Caroline who was born in Sweden and married in Michigan died in Chicago ILL 4-15 or 16-1935. I know it was her because the children are all mentioned and with their married names. On a census it said that she was widowed in 1930 I don't know if that is true or because then no one wanted to be labeled as divorced. I do have more detail if you want.
