My g-g grandparents, Johan Peter Johansson and his wife, Anna Lovisa Jonsdotter immigrated from Sweden with their five children in 1870. They settled in Pittsburgh, PA. Their daughter, Augusta Carolina, is my great grandmother. I have the names and all pertinent information on the family from the Swedish 1870 Emibas Migration File. Augusta married William Barton Aber in 1879. The 1880 census shows William and Augusta. Living with them is Augusta's father, John Peter Johnson. His marital status is married. In 1900, the father is still living with them, but now his marital status is widowed.
My mystery is I have not been able to track the mother Anna Lovisa or three of their five children. They disappeared from the face of the earth. I did find the death certificate of one daughter, Anna, who died of burns in 1878 at the age of 10. The missing children are: Hulda Sofia Jenny, Karl Johan Emil and Axel Leonard.
If any of this sounds familiar, I would love to hear from you. I have more information, but was trying to be brief here.
