Johns and Phillips c 1700
DNA surname matches indicate that our line of Phillips may have originated in Wales.
One of my most distantly proven ancestors is John Phillips and his possible brother Gabriel Philipps (m in Bucks County PA 1758). In PA of the 1700s it was still common to use the old naming system so that John Phillips may have been from the surname John bloodline. Indeed there is one documented case of a surname John who named his son John Philips.
I'm hoping that there may be a line of John or Johns who have had DNA analysis and that it may be a 25 marker or 37 marker match similar to my own.
