I had not seen a record of Aaron Jolliff before your post, which interests me. Richard Jolliff,
a soldier in a Morris County regiment died in 1759 and his captain was made administrator of
I would like to know more about this family, because I am looking into the possibility that my ancestor,
James Jolliff, born around 1760, might have been the son of Richard, as James's eldest son was Richard.
He appears for the first time in Washington Co., PA, in 1781; there was a Luke Joliff who was a member of
the militia there in 1775 who may have been a brother. Possibly Richard's widow remarried and went to
western Pennsylvania in the early 1770s.
