Dear Anne: My name is Frank Myers, who along with Ann Faulkner and others served as sounding boards and co-conspirators as the late Liz Hartline undertook the research that led to "A Jolliff Family History" (1982). I must confess I've not attended much to the Jolliffs for a good many years (Jolliff burnout). I'm descended from James and Rachel (Jolliff) Rhea's son, Richard Rhea. You mention Frank H. Rhea, one of the world's great correspondents I do believe. Several of his letters to my family survive, too, although they deal almost exclusively with Rheas. I certainly would enjoy having a copy of his correspondence directed to your family. Is that possible? As you probably know, an uncaring sibling burned all but a few scraps of Cousin Frank's correspondence and research notes after his premature death. A dream of mine (probably a pipe dream) has been to reassemble as much of his correspondence as practical. And families did tend to save his wonderfully informative letters. If it's practical for you to share copies, please let me know what sort of financial arrangements we need to make. Liz, by the way, would be delighted to see that research into the family continues, and not unduly disappointed because some of her educated guesses have turned out to be just that. She was the grandest of ladies and among the most meticulous of researchers. How she would enjoy the internet!
