Steve,
Your the same Steve I know, is that right? Sorry I had forgotten who your Childress was, or did I know?:)Tell me something, I know by the original (copy) of Benjamin Childress 1775 WILL that he had a "youngest" son, he named as "Royal". From the census and tax list's from Amherst County (VA), I didn't see him as "John" Royal (Childress), if you don't mind, where did you learn he had two christian names? On these census, I saw his mother "Ann Childress" (Jopling) and Samuel and Thomas who were his brothers, any more that you know of?
I do know of another John Royal "Childers", he was the ancestor of Capt. Gracey Childers of TN and KY, I have his history which was in the TN archives.I believe he was in the War of 1812 (Source: "Childress Chatter" and his genealogical data from TN Archives in Nashville) - I would really appreciate knowing! Thanks Steve.
