Hi Mindy,
Asmus Jorgensen had a very interesing life. He was born in Denmark in 1845. He joined the Mormon Church and sailed to America on the steamship Minnasota on 6-28-1871.In all he married five times. He married Anna Anderson in 1872. As polygamy was the way to live in those days, he married my great grandmother Harriet Sandberg in 1874. She was also from Denmark. On May 27, 1886 he married Anna Laura Lamb, who was 15 yrs. old. He was 41. She was also the niece of my great grandmother Harriet. Her mother and Harriet were sisters. Anna Laura and Asmus had five Children. She didn't have her first child until she was twenty. The children were Clara Lorenda, Laura Elizabeth, Rachel Ellen, Joseph Abelham and Vernon Henry. About 1905 Anna Laura left Asmus and moved to Colorado with all her children. She later married Jooseph Otis.
Asmus was very active in the L.D.S. church. He was a carpenter, stone cutter and a stage performer among other things.
If you could get me your mailing address I would gladly mail you what information I have.
