In Reply to: William Joslyn from new York by Richard Joslyn of 1940

My father-in-law, Frank O. Joslyn, had a cousin from Blaine ME. named Richard who looked very much like him as an adult but had reddish hair. This Richard lived in Littleton, ME.
Frank's father's name was Birdsell Joslyn and Frank had an older brother named Wilbur.
Birdsell's father was Wilbur G. and his grandfather appears to be William Nelson, the son of William Joslyn (Bill Jocelyn) and a woman named Monroe. That would make William Joslyn Dad's great-grandfather also.
If we are talking about the same Bill Jocelyn (Joslyn), in Mars Hill, Blaine and Houlton ME. you may be related. This Bill Joslyn had quite a reputation in town as well.

Perhaps I had not been able to go back farther in my research than Bill (William) in ME. because he was from NY. This was a common point of entry (Crown Point) for many from England a long time ago.
I'm sorry this reply is so late. I don't use genforums much.
We may have discovered the NY. connection.

Chris Joslyn
