In the 1850 census at Buffalo, in addition to Alanson, there was an Alvin Joslyn b. abt. 1790 in VT. This Alvin is probably the son of Lindsey Joslin/Susan Welch, said to be b. abt. 1790 in Poultney, Rutland, VT. (Lindsey was son of Jabez Joslin and Mary Lindsey. Many of the Joslins born in VT at about the right time were children of Lindsey or of one of his brothers, and many of this line moved into NY State, to Batavia, Genesee, NY and vicinity. Alvin was in Warsaw, Genesee, NY in the 1840 census.) I have no concrete information on this, but an educated guess would be that your Alanson, Azuba and Alzada were siblings of Alvin (which also starts with an A).
