The 1841 British census for Essex lists a JOSLIN family living in Chelmsford. They were: Benjamin JOSLIN. 40. Head. Stone Mason. Mary. 40. Wife. (I think born FLETCHER) Benjamin. 17 Thomas. 15 Mary. 14 Martha. 13 George. 12 William. 10 David. 7 Joseph. 5 Ages in the 1841 census were pretty much hit and miss, so these are approximate. Thomas, the second son on the list born ca 1826, became a stone mason like his father. He married Catherine WOOD in St.Pancras, London, in May 1848. In 1858, with 3 children the couple migrated to South Africa, where they spent the rest of their lives. Anyone know what became of the rest of this JOSLIN brood? Did any of them pitch up in Oz, Canada or the USA? Best wishes Frank (married to a JOSLIN) Notify Administrator about this message?
