John,
For decades and generations, the males in my family have always had at least one offspring with either the first or middle name of Judson. My father, Richard Judson Dent and my grandfather, Rawley Judson Dent both could never figure out what the obvious relationship was between the dents and the "Judsons". This is the first time I have seen a "Dent" married into the Judsons. My clan of Dents came from Yorkshire also, I believ in the central/northeast part, around the town of Dent (Dentsdale). That has always been the assumption. Can you shed any light?
Thanks,
Richard Oliver Dent
