Gerald,
I do have some info on a John W. Jumper who commanded in the Civil War. He was born in April 1835 in Autauga county, Alabama. He married a Margaret ?, who was a descendant of the Van Bunshoten (a very prominent family at the time). At the time of the draft, he worked in Panola, Alabama, and lived in Chunky, Lauderdale County, Mississippi. He died before 1870. That is all I have for now. I hope this is the same John. If you have any info on him, please forward as I would love to have it!
