Dear Jennifer: This is a summary of what I know. The name Jusino has been in PR since the late 1700's. The name may have been derived from Sardinian immigrants in the Yauco area. If this is so, the actual Sardinian name is a still a mystery. Perhaps it's something like Guisino but the spanish J, of course, is not pronounced like that at all. It could have been an alphabetical translation, however. Please note: there are others who know quite a bit more on this subject than me. Let me know if you find out! Dave.
