There's a KY marriage record for a Robert L. JUSTICE, age 19, born Pike, KY, to Rosey B. MCCOY, age 14, born Pike, KY, on 27-Sept-1888 in Pikeville, Pike Co, KY.

Does that seem to be the right couple?

On the 1900 census they are in Mag. Dist. 6 of Pike Co:
JUSTICE, Robert L. b Oct 1868 in KY, married 12 yrs, both parents b. KY
wife Rosa b. Oct 1874 in MO, 4 children born, 4 living, both parents b. KY
son James A. b. May 1890
dau Emma b. Dec 1890
son Lawrence b. Apr 1893
son H--am (poss Hiram?)L. b. Apr 1898
uncle Levi b. Nov 1840, married 30 yrs
aunt Malind b. Feb 1835 " " 0 children
uncle John b. Apr 1861
cousin Robert b. Feb 1884

In 1910 they are in Lick, Pike Co. It's Robert, Rosy, children: Lawrence, Hearn, Gypsy, Ugene, Effort and Van. Malynds JUSTICE, age 84, is living with them and listed as "mother" of Robert.

In 1920 children still at home are Eugine, age 15, Efferd, age 13, Van, age 11, and Lidnie age 7.

In 1930 their married daughter, Gypsy BLAIR is living with them, along with her children: Tunas, Eugene and Mildred.

I think this is probably Robert's family in the 1880 census for Lick Creek, Pike Co, KY
JUSTICE, Levi age 40 b. KY, married, both parents b. KY
wife Linday age 40 b. VA, married, both parents b. VA
mother Nancy age 60 b. KY, widowed, both parents b. KY
brother John age 20 b. KY, single, both parents b. KY
sister Polly age 33 b. KY, widowed, both parents b. KY
grandson Robert age 12 b. KY
granddau Caldone age 6 b. KY
granddau Bell age 4 b. KY

Possible match in 1870 census for District 4, Pike Co, KY:
JUSTICE, Hiram age 52 b. KY
Nancy age 50 b. KY
Polly age 23 b. KY
Pleasant age 21 b. KY
Almeda age 17 b. KY
John W. age 10 b. KY
Robert L. age 1 b. KY

Unfortunately, the 1870 doesn't list relationship to head of household.

In 1860 the household is:
Hiram age 42
Nancy age 40
Levy age 20
James H. age 18
Miles age 17
Mary age 15
Pleasant age 13
Almeda age 7
John W. (age illegible or not written)

The 1850 census for Pike Co, KY:
JUSTACE, Hiram age 31 b. KY
Nancy age 28 b. KY
Levi age 11
James H. age 9
Myles age 7
Mary age 5
Pleasant age 2

There's a record of burial for a Robert Lee JUSTICE on 18-Apr-1935 in Stone, Pike Co, KY. He was 66. His parents were John JUSTICE and Polly BEVINS.

There's a marriage record for Hiram JUSTICE to Nancy CLEVINGER on 14-Dec-1837 in Pike Co.

I'm having a hard time figuring out who his parents were. While the one census indicates he's a grandson of Levi and Malind/Linday, I think it more likely that he was the grandson of Nancy and Hiram. But their son John wasn't old enough to be his father. There were lots of JUSTICE and BEVINS families in Pike Co. I've found a few marriage records between the families, but none for a John and Polly. James H. JUSTICE married a Sarah BEVINS in 1867. Possibly whoever provided the info at the time of Robert's death had it wrong?
