I looked long ago (pre web) for a link for my Charlotte (1813-1901) who married Edward Phillips in York Co. Another researcher was told by a teacher whose name was Kaake that they were related through her grandmother (Charlotte). I looked and looked but found no Charlotte amongst the Kaake clan in York.
Charlotte and Edward ran the Plank Road Inn (which was at the corner of Steele's and Islington). They are buried in the Pine Grove Cem, off of Islington.
They had several children baptised in the 1840's in the York Twp, Wesleyan Methodist Church bapt. registers. Various children's marriage certificates give her maiden name is Craig, McKay, Kay. So, I have no idea what it really was.
