Two records document the arrival of Matheas Myars in America. Uncertain as to which record, if either, is the Mathias Miers/Myars who married widow Mary Kachelriess and became step-father to her two boys Michael and Tabalt/Tabolt:
Record (1), 1742 - Matheas Meyer - arrives at the Port of Philadelphia on board the ship "Robert & Alice from Rotterdam, but last from Cowes". List qualified on September 24, 1742. Record (2), 1744 - Matthias Meyer, Matthias Meyer Jr, and Nicholas Meyer arrive at the Port of Philadelphia on board the ship "Aurora from Rotterdam, but last from Cowes". List qualified by Capt. Robert Pickeman on October 8, 1744. 1754 - Mathias Miers - Granville County Deeds, Patent Book 14, page 5, (abstract 2474) transaction dated 4/26/1754; Mathias Miers purchases 400 acres in Granville County on both sides of Skelton Creek; Witnesses Jno Haywood, Sher Haywood; SCC Benford Dickens, Griffin Nunary; Wm Churton, Surveyor.

(First Transcription) Granville District Will dated March 1, 1770. Milhais Miars wills to his grandson Milhais Cockelrean, son of Tabolt Cockelran, 100 acres on north side of Mill creek in Granville County adjoining Shearmon's land; to my wife, Mary Miars all the rest of my estate except that I have already given away and, at her death, that Michall Cockelrean shall have this plantation and my mill, also a Negro boy called Tomas and one called Jack and Tabalt Cockelrean to have a Negro called Nell and all stock divided between Tabolt and Michall; (name may be Cockelreece). Exrs; my son Michall Cockelreece and my wife Mary Myars. Witnesses: Thos. Oakley, Naham Saunders (or Landers).

Mythias Myars (signs by mark) Will probated April CT 1770.To Grandson Mythias (Cockelreece), son of Tabalt Cockelreece, 100 A. in Granville County on North side of Mill Creek, adjoining Shearmon's land; to wife Mary Myars all the rest of his real and personal estate; to Michael Cockelreece, after death of wife Mary, "this Plantation & mill" and also two Negroes (name Tomas and Jack); to Tabalt Cockelreece 1 Negro (named Nell); and the rest of estate "horses, hogs, sheep, etc. to be equally divided betwixt the two boys, Michael and Tabalt. Exs; "my son Michael Cockelreece and my wife Mary Miers/Myars" Wit Tho's Oakley, Jacob (surname not clear) Nahrun Saunders.
