-John Keckly son of Jacob Keckley. b. 1702, Steinhelm, Wurenburg, Germany, d. 2-16-1788, married to Alice ???, b. 1717, d. 1805 at a Lutheran Church at North Mountain near Mt. Williams, VA.
The above is what I have pieced together over the years through bits and pieces. I started just with the names my Dad knew going back to his grandfather. Nothing else was known because no one wanted to talk about the Johnson line because Albert shamed the family by running off and abandoning the family during the Depression. But I could verify the names and addresses of the Johnsons through the Columbus telephone books and then I found John L.'s death certificate on microfilm and that opened things up to other avenues.
I would appreciate any and all further infomation on the Keckley and Johnson lines and any corrections. My father had the story that the Johnsons were originally from Wales and came over with an unpronounceable Welsh name and simply changed it to the easy and common name of Johnson. I am very interested in information about the North Mountain area and where the Johnsons may be buried around the Winchester area. Thanks!
