Saw your posting on Elizabeth Keckley and thought I might be able to add alittle info.
Elizabeth's mother was Agnes Hobbs and her father was George Pleasant...for some reason Elizabeth had used her mothers name of Hobbs as her maiden name.
I also am interested in her son George Keckley which had his own regiment during the Civil War. I've read that George was killed during the war but in two different places,one being on the border of Tn./Ky.,the other at Reed's Crossing in Mo.
Can anyone shed more light on son George?
