Kaczanowski Family Genealogy Forum

Laura...thanks for the info. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only Kaczanowksi researching family backgrounds. Since you have the coat of arms..could you scan it for me. I know there are various companies out there who mass produce copies of coat of arms, but I am always sceptical as to their authenticities. It is interesting about the pronunciation last name. The people who come from Gaj Swieciki area ( near Staszow), pronounce our name Ko-cza-nowf-ski, and daughters born to a Kaczanowski father, are referred to as "Koczanowszczonka", which is even difficult for a Polish speaking person to pronounce(haha). People living close by in Bytom, pronounce Ka-cza-nowf-ski. In Canada it has become Ka-za-now-ski. Interesting! I would greatly appreciate any information you could give me regarding Kaczanowski name, as I don't have much. I know we had an uncle who immigrated to the states, but what his name was, or where he lived, I don't know yet. Do the names Wladek, or Jendryk mean anything to you? These people definitely came from Staszow area, in Poland.
