My great great grandfather was Johan (John) Adolf Kristensen Kaddeland born 1855 in Norway. He married Anna Gullovsdatter Skagestad (9 May 1856)-(9 Mar 1938) on 29 May 1879.
Their children were:
1. Gunhild born 15 april 1880 married Sevrin Kristiansen
2. Gurina Bertina (aka Bertha) born 6 Oct 1882 married #1 David Henry Mills #2 Andrew R. Holtzee.
3. Kristen (aka Chris) born after 1882 married Naomi ?
My great grandmother was #2, Gurina Bertina. She was known as Bertha and came to this country in 1900. She married my great grandfather, David Henry Mills, who was born in 1868 In Ohio. They were married 23 Nov 1907 in Hettinger, ND.
David died in 1911 and Bertha remarried Andrew R. Holtzee in 1914.
The name Kaddeland comes from the area in Norway where they lived and farmed. This is north of Mandel, Norway.
