I have some information that might help you on Niklaus Kaderli. According to some family papers he was "supposed to have been born in the Canton of Solothurn some time about the year 1827." The document then goes on to say that "Niklaus Kaderli came to America when he was bout 17 years of age and married and settled in Mississippi, where he reared a family. He, however, died while his children were all young."

Would you mind letting me know if it is helpful? I am guessing from your information that Charles Nicholas could be the Nicholas that I am related to. (However, on his marriage licese and all family correspondence about him do not refer to him as such.)
