The name Kagi or Kagy (with an umlat over the "a") is an old Swiss name. It was common in the records of Hittnau and Pfaffikon in Canton Zurich, Sitzerland in the 1500s and the 1660s.

Felix Kagy left Hittnau between 1678 and 1682 and moved to Rohrbach in Germany. He later lived at Bolanderhof near Alzey and was a Mennonite.
