Origin of Kagy Name
Posted by: William Buchanan Date: November 13, 2000 at 14:47:00

Can anyone confirm this reported origin of the Kagy name:

"[In the early 1700s] in Switzerland a
Mr. Kale fell in love with and married a Miss Gibber. Their union was
blessed with a son. After a time they separated and the lady became so
bitter that she would not allow her child to bear his father's name. The

matter was decided in the courts. A new name for the child was composed
from the first two letters of his father's name, Kayla], and the first
two letters of his mother's name, GI[bler], so the name KAKI, as it is
still written in Switzerland, was started."
