Just saw your post regarding Ellinor Kaighin. I have to tell you that I've been researching the Kaighin family for several years now and have accumulated thousands of records from 1580 to the present and I have never run across the family you mention. There was a Patrick Kaighin and Joney Corkan married 13 April 1667 in Kirk Michael but all of their children were born by 1673. Your post shows a 27 year gap between marriage and birth of Ellinor. The closest family I can come up with in my database is Patrick and Joney's son John who married Bahee Corjeage in 1690. They had several children, two with the names you mentioned (Eleanor, c. 1703; Philip c.1707) but even that is a stretch. That Eleanor married Henry Killy.
There is a gap in the records for Kirk German during this time period and this may explain why I can't find most of the name+date combinations you mentioned. Kirk Michael however does not have such a gap and this family should be represented if they were christened/married/buried there. A check of the IGI shows no George born prior to 1852 in any parish. There is no record of any Kaighin-Mcylecharane marriage and no Philip-Margaret Sayle marriage. I have a good portion of the Kaighin wills and these do not show any of the mentioned names either that would fit. A check of burial records also yields no clues. No George or Patrick from this time frame that fits your scenario. There are several Philips, Johns, Janes, Eleanors and Williams, but too many to narrow down without dates of death/burial.
Also, the Patrick Kaighin (who married Joney Corkan) was christened 6 Nov 1637 and was buried 2 Sep 1672 in Peel (Kirk German), long before the children you mention were born. He had a marriage previous to Joney to a Margaret ?? This marriage produced two daughters, one named Eleanor (b.29 Sep 1664) who married Philip Kewish
So this is a new mystery to me. Can you provide me with the records you used to come to your conclusions? I know there are probably several families from Kirk German that I haven't documented yet. Scattered names keep popping up here and there that indicate their existance. There are some Manorial Rolls and other property documents during those times that have names of Kaighins who don't fit into my database and they may very well be of those that you mention. Although a Patrick Kaighin doesn't show up in those rolls until 1858.
Also feel free to download my database (email me for the password) from my website www.kaighin.com. You may see something in there that I missed.
