Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I didn't say anything about hating my identity. I was responding to your inane nonsense about my surname being Turkish. Unlike you, I HAVE done the research to discover the ancient source of my surname and I can state unequivocally that it NOT Turkish. My problem with your original post is that without any valid sources, you made a claim in the forum for my surname and represented it as a statement of fact. While I appreciate your desire to believe that many European surnames have Turkish roots (I took the liberty of checking out your other posts on GenForum), your loose association between Kaygin and Kaighin is nothing more than what appears to be wishful thinking on your part. Now, if you have anything useful to contribute to this forum in particular or GenForum in general, i.e. valid sources that back up your claims, then by all means please contribute. If not, don't post here. You're making a fool out of yourself by doing so, and your posts are misinforming to those who might not have done the research to know otherwise. That was the intent of my original response, my apologies for being so brief. I don't typically respond to such foolishness, but since you brought it here to the forum about my surname I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea that my surname is Turkish.
